An announcement came this week from Ruud Dulmus, the owner of the Switzerland website (Vignettes of Switzerland) about a major update to the catalog. Below, some notes from Ruud’s email:
“Over time, there has been more interest and appreciation for the catalogue, since I started to digitally map my own collection. In November 2024 I was able to observe in Switzerland that vignettes have come to the attention of more dealers, and I also met some new collectors with whom I have not had contact before. In May 2025, I hope to see even more happy faces at the Bern exhibition.
The catalog is managed by me alone, which is quite a lot of work, fortunately AI and chat GPT can now be used. AI checks the explanation associated with the vignettes, while chat GPT detects the errors. In this moment there are no missing pictures anymore, but it is still human work.
The prices for less common vignettes have risen. Nevertheless, vignettes are still regularly offered that are tens or hundreds of euros above the market price. As stated elsewhere in this online catalogue, the prices quoted in the catalogue are a non-binding reflection of the level of quotation and this value can be used as a starting point for a higher or lower quotation on well-known websites.
Have fun with your poster stamps collection.
Ruud Dulmus”
