A New Book from Art Groten
Art Groten’s book as reviewed by Nick Follansbee this spring, is no longer available–although a much modified book (also worth having) is now available on Amazon. The new version is called Ephemera and Philately – Updated. Here is the revised book cover.
And below, a sample page. There are now 20 articles, 7 of which repeat from the first book, the remainder all new. In the meantime, the review by Nick Follansbee from this spring is still applicable, so further down is part of that review.
“Art Groten, through his exhibiting, judging and writing, has done more than anyone else to advance the cause of poster stamps and other “paraphilately” in the US philatelic community. In recent years he has authored a monthly column “Paraphilately” in American Stamp Collector and Dealer and articles in Kelleher’s Stamp Collector’s Quarterly. His new book Amazing Paraphilately and Ephemera reprints articles from these two publications. “Paraphilately” (a term coined by Groten) encompasses a broad range of labels, some postal and others not. I think of it as a dignified alternative to “cinderellas”….
Articles are authoritative, informative, entertaining and should delight.”
The book can be purchased through Amazon for $45 (paperback). Search books using Art Groten, or use this link:
