Pane of 12 poster stamps sold for 1d per stamp (1 Shilling per sheet) to benefit and publicize the traveling exhibition titled "Allies Inside Germany". The exhibition was first opened in July, 1942, in an unoccupied store in Regent Street. The exhibition was organized by the "Free German League of Culture", a social and cultural center for German and Austrian refugees in opposition to the Nazi government in Germany. The images on these fundraising stamps depict scenes of underground and resistance activity in Germany during the war.
