October 2:
It’s been a while since I’ve written. Tom Minor has been doing a terrific job on the Journal and Joe Ward has tickled us with some auction material, as have I. At this point, we seem to be holding steady.
As you all know, the 2026 International show will be held in Boston. There will a dedicated section for ephemera. In order to have a society booth, it would have to be manned all during the show. We are a small group so I have not requested such a booth. I believe that The Ephemera Society of America will be able to accommodate our informational fliers.
I am afraid I have to step down as President for health reasons. Tom Minor will take over as President pro tem.
I don’t think I’ll be able to attend the Boston show. I wish you all good hunting! ––Art Groten
Note from Tom:
Those who are not longtime members of this club and other major societies (such as the American Philatelic Society) will not know that Dr. Arthur Groten has had a long and distinguished career in philately and the active support of other groups, has authored many many articles for other collector magazines such as Topical Times and the American Stamp Dealer and Collector, has been nationally honored for his writing and editing work, has been at times a stamp dealer, has exhibited and has been in the APS Court of Honor for his exhibiting, is an accredited judge for the APS, was a major force in founding and supporting the Poster Stamp Collectors Club and started and edited the quarterly Poster Stamp Journal for ten years. His worldwide connections, his knowledge and level of experience will be sorely missed.
