Samlermærket Newsletter No. 2 – August 15, 1913.
Each edition of the Andreasen & Lachmann newsletter known as Samlermærket (The Poster Stamp) that we publish here on the Poster Stamp Collectors Club website will be accompanied by a short synopsis of the contents of the newsletter.
Page One – Presents and explains Andreasen & Lachmann’s “System” for the production, distribution, and collecting of poster stamps.
Page Two – Article about market values of poster stamps; Offers a possibility of creating an “exchange list” – a system for subscibers to trade poster stamps with each other; Mention of a poster stamp registry by the Danish newspaper “Berlingske Tidende”.
Page Three – A critical look at the lack of artistic creativity of a (non A&L) poster stamps for an exhibition, along with some design ideas for the same event created by noted Danish artist Thor Bøgelund-Jensen. An offer to subscribers to come visit A&L’s printing house to see a demonstration of the production of poster stamps; A recommendation to subscribers to buy A&L printed albums in which to safely store their poster stamp collections.
Page Four – Eight different actual poster stamps mounted in the newsletter, along with details about each one.
Page Five – Listing of newly released A&L poster stamps; Comments in the press (recurring column).
Page Six – Various notes about issued poster stamps, plus some corrections; A report of Andreasen & Lachmann’s court case to try and trademark the word “Samlermærke” (Literally “collector’s stamp” but used here as “poster stamp”); Notice of the upcoming A&L Great Exhibition of Poster Stamps, and invitations for subscribers to exhibit their own collections.
