April 6:

The real mail version of the Poster Stamp Bulletin number 337 has been mailed out to our surviving members. Those who have, sadly, chosen not to renew will be getting an email notice about the issue and be able to look at it online for a few days.  If you are one of those, sincere apologies for not living up to expectations, or perhaps unintentionally offending. In 2023 or 2024, no one has yet emailed to make complaint, so it’s difficult to make any improvement.

December 8:

PSB 335 for December 2023/January 2024 has been mailed out this week; the online color version is now available in the Library under POSTER STAMP BULLETIN. Remember you need to login.

Meanwhile, thanks to Tom & Ray (mostly Ray), the recent years of the Poster Stamp Bulletin, 2020, 2021 and 2022 have been posted in the Library. Just go to the menu item Poster Stamp Bulletin (same place as the current issue) and scroll down, way down, to the bottom. You’ll see months to click on that will bring up a pdf. Please be patient, all that memory recall takes a bit of time to open.

October 7:

The latest issue of the Poster Stamp Bulletin is in the library; remember you need to login, then go to the Menu LIBRARY and the top listing POSTER STAMP BULLETIN to view.

October 5:

Fall is officially here. PSB 334 has been mailed out, and will appear on the website this weekend.

Stickers from the postal service: September 14.

This month brings our ‘third of the year’ poster stamp sale. Each mailer sent out this week includes a tiny slogan sticker produced by the US Postal Service; these were printed on the pane of 20 “Thinking of You” stamps issued August 11, 2023. Those who got the mailer each got a random message from the USPS, which could be ‘Hooray’, ‘Feel Better’, ‘Congratulations’, ‘Thinking of You’, ‘Best Wishes’, ‘Grateful For You’ or any of 13 phrases included on the pane.

I wouldn’t call these poster stamps, but they are certainly Cinderellas printed by the government.

August 4:

The latest issue of PSB, number 333, has been posted in the Library and put in the mail this week. This issue is built around the theme of aviation, with special thanks to Bob Brew and bits of support from Ray Petersen and Art Groten.  Soon to come is an article on early Danish aviation, courtesy of Ray Petersen, the first of a series.

June 30:

We have continued with our recent theme of the Italian Army poster stamps, often called Italian Regimentals, with the PSB 332 newsletter article, a translation of part of the Bertrand catalog, and now a special member article on Italian Regimental postcards. Yes, while they were printing stamps, the army also decided to make some related postcards; many use the poster stamps,  and some are beautifully elaborate designs in themselves.

June 4:

The latest issue of PSB, number 332, has been posted in the Library on the ‘Poster Stamp Bulletin‘ page, after being mailed out this week. We hope those who get a copy in the mail (which is in black & white), will also be curious to login and view it in full color. Reminder: if you hover your cursor over the bulletin, a control bar in gray will appear at the top, and you can go to full screen, enlarge or reduce size, or download.

May 11:

The May sale of poster stamps has begun. Click on the feature article below to get to the scans of material. First ask first served!

April 22:

Time is running out to get a beautiful, free new Poster Stamp pane from the Portland Stamp Company. Send an email to member Niko Courtelis at  stamps@theportlandstampcompany.com that includes your mailing address and receive a copy; the pane appropriately has the Earth as its center stamp.

And so, Happy Earth Day! And don’t forget to say Thanks, Niko!

March 6:

Winter is not yet over, but things are sprouting here. Another catalog has been added to the library. It covers Stamp Collars, or in the French term Porte Timbres, released in the early years of the USSR. Here is an example of one issued in France during World War 1, with a regular French issue stamp put on as was intended. An intro to the book, which we have titled USSR Porte-Timbres Catalog (1923-1929) is in the Articles below

February 8:

The latest Poster Stamp Bulletin newsletter was mailed out a few days ago and has now been posted online. Logged in members can go to the Library Section of the Menu.

January 26:

It’s not snow, it’s a new Book addition to the website:   An ADDENDUM To the Catalog A General Illustrated Catalogue of Exhibition and Event Poster Stamps to 1914 published by the Cinderella Stamp Club of Great Britain. The Addendum was compiled by Steven Greiczek, who has been gradually working on additions. This is no small thing, the addendum is over 100 pages with indexing.

For now, a portion of the Events Catalog is posted here, open to anyone to view, but the overall book will be available to members only as of February 1, 2023.

January 24:

The mail sale has ended.

January 4:

Today the first of this year’s mail sale events is being emailed out to members. As an experiment we are also allowing non members to purchase, although they will be delayed a day, so that members get a first chance to order.

December 31:

This month has seen a number of additions: Time to Renew membership button, the Club Photographs Gallery, the Image of the Week Gallery, expanding Library, and even (a few) new members. Thanks to Treasurer Ray, any member can check out if he has been credited for dues paid through this coming year: just go to your member’s profile and look towards the bottom. And soon to come is a mail sale of a few poster stamp items, for your convenience and amusement.

And of course the ever changing sampler “Image of the Week”, PSB no. 329 mailed out, new member articles on the website, announcements of Events, Christmas season masthead, and curious members can go to the Forums menu and view the “Website Changes” list.

If you want to receive the bulletin mailed and are not getting it, please feel free to contact any officer by web or mail. (buttons at the bottom of this page).

December 8:

A pdf version of the Poster Stamp Bulletin no. 329 was posted on-line yesterday. If you want to see it, you need to be logged in, and then go to Poster Stamp Bulletin in the Library. View or download as desired. (See the President’ Message).  For those wondering, the PSB marches on next year, with 6 issues planned.

We have started a new page this past week, the Club Photograph Gallery. For now it’s got older event photos only, but we hope someone, anyone, somewhere out there who has some photos of events involving club members will send a copy and let us post them here. Just about any typical digital form can be emailed to us and we’ll go to work. Include some info like people, date, and place.

If you want to receive the bulletin mailed and are not getting it, please feel free to contact any officer by web or mail. (buttons at the bottom of this page).

Congratulations Poster Stamp Collectors Club on our website’s 2022 Star Route Award!

The American Philatelic Society Digital Content Team has recognized the Poster Stamp Collectors Club website with a Vermeil Star Route Award.

The APS re-launched the chapter newsletter and website competitions named the Star Route Awards in 2021.  Since the mid-1800s, the Star Routes were the most challenging routes in the country to deliver U.S. mail. Congress called for contractors to deliver the mail with “celerity, certainty, and security,” soon replaced with three stars. APS chapters serve and grow the stamp collecting hobby in the same tough terrains with that same mission.

You can see all the other award winners a https://stamps.org/star-route

Congratulations and thanks especially to Tom Minor for his vision, fellow officer Ray Petersen and designer Pat Morgan, the team spearheading the revitalization of the club’s website!

October 26:

I hope that by now everyone has received their real mail copy of the latest October/November Stamp Bulletin–at least those of you in the US.  And check out page two for club news, member announcements, want-ads, etc. EVERY member is welcome to submit a short post or ad to the Message Section, just email it to one of the editors or officers (or drop us a postcard at PSCC, 7374 Arlington Drive, St. Louis, MO 63117)

If you want to receive the bulletin and are not getting it, please feel free to contact any officer by web or mail.

October 20:

The real mail Poster Stamp Bulletin #5 is being mailed out today, somewhat behind schedule. We are continuing to add members to the address list when we get information, but many members have still not entered that information in the directory.

August 28:

You may notice that our headline and top menus look slightly different. That is because we are attempting to adapt the website so that you can make use of it from your phone. It’s an ongoing process for inexperienced programmers–feel free to try looking on your smarty phone, whatever the brand, and let us know what happens. email secretary

August 16:

The Poster Stamp Bulletin #4 of this year has now been mailed out, many of us got our copy today. The most recent subscribers will get a copy, but a little late.

August 8:

The PSSC has now made it into LINN’S Stamp News.  Look in the August 8 issue on page 18 for the headline: Poster Stamp Collectors Club Makes Changes. Thank-you Linn’s.

June 10:

The real mail copy of the Poster Stamp Bulletin was mailed out last week. Not everyone will receive it, as MANY members have STILL not gotten logged in correctly and edited their profile with updated mailing information. Those who do not, may not get the mail sale offer due to come out in July.

Our managing editor, Joseph W., is in the midst of a cross country move, and co-editor Nicholas F. took up the slack admirably. Most of the Bulletin will eventually be available (to members only) in a scanned b&w copy in the Library Section under Poster Stamp Bulletin, but you can see the April issue now.

June 1:

Two clubs are now merged, the Poster Stamp Collectors Club, and the Poster Stamp Bulletin (aka Poster Stamp Society of America). Members MUST edit their profile and get their correct user name and mailing information entered.

A mailing went out to all PSB members as of June 1st with instructions on what to do. Once they have enrolled, it will take us a few hours to receive the [automatic] notice, flip the switch and send you a confirmation email, so please be patient with us.  And notice there is no money involved for 2022.

May 10:  We are in the process of deleting old member accounts and establishing new accounts with the username format being {first_name}_{last_name}.  Once we have all the new accounts set up for our active members we will be sending out emails with the new user name so that they can reset their passwords and complete their user profiles.   SORRY for any inconvenience. If you are not a member this is a great time for you to think about joining.  See the Join Us page.

Hey All,

We are busy working on the club website.  We encourage you to continue to look around and provide us with feedback.  You will see some pages we have marked as Under Construction so please don’t expect for those pages to be ready for primetime just yet.

Under the “About Poster Stamps” menu are 5 new major articles open for any site visitor to read, intended for beginners on up.

In the Library we have begun adding a new archive: issues of the Poster Stamp Bulletin from 1994 and 1995.  It will take a lot of time, but eventually issues from 1994 up until the present will be available on-line. It’ll only be available to member/subscribers, however. Other resources for research will gradually appear here.

Soon a new Forum will open for questions and answers or comments by members. And more

Check back often as we have many more exciting features planned!
